While out and about today with the family, I noticed the daffodils on the side of the road beginning to bloom. That tells me that this is the week to introduce the students to A.A. Milne and his famous poem "Daffodowndilly". The kids will be surprised to learn that Mr. Milne also created Winnie the Pooh, and wrote many other poems and stories for children.
Watch the video that I made down below with your child to help them to memorize the poem. If the kids do well with this poem of the week, we might just "take this show on the road" and go recite it for our first grade friends. We'll see!
Our kindergarten class memorized this lovely poem by A.A. Milne for their poetry journals. We acted out the lines and even learned how to draw a daffodil. The flowers in this video live in my front yard.
